Fruity Bros! is a talk-show that I directed, edited, filmed, and wrote. http://tinyurl.com/fruitybros
Our television class was tasked with creating a web series that would resonate with internet audiences and after much discussion we decided on Bro Fruit. And then we decided that was stupid and changed it to Fruity Bros. My proposal for this late night talk-show style web-series read:
Two self-proclaimed 'fruitologists' use their extensive knowledge of fruit as a platform into comedic dialogue.
We wanted to create a silly, high-octane assault of nonsense that made you say "what did I just watch?" when you finished with the sub-three minute episodes. The most challenging aspect of producing Fruity Bros for me was the writing. Dying might be easy (Bruce Willis may disagree), but comedy is very hard. Since Fruity Bros included only two or three cuts in an entire episode, I had to make the dialogue flow, simple to remember, and most critically; funny. We entered Fruity Bros under talk-show of the Chicagoland Television Educator's Council it won 2nd place for its over-the-top camera antics and witty host conversation.
